What we wanted to see

What we wanted to see, was never in our sight. Whom we wished to be, was never in our might. For as life came and went from us, turned soft days into night. Of fear and dread we sung the dead wake with power nigh. For too busy were our friends as they were getting high. The chase of that they thought was good but only summons pain. We sought our own destruction and sought we it by name. Power on and power hence to lie as we command. Ne'er can one see the gain nor hold it in the hand. These eyes fell on forests gone and fields left to the rot. Did we seek to know ourselves but only know we're not.

I walk split one foot in the sand, the other the sea to contrast from land. Flow and flare the water so fair my life it hence demand. So I serve and so I pray to that which call to me. You can worship foolish man, but I worship the sea.
