What will YOU climb for?
I see my life in mountains and hills and peaks of success
One, two, infinity peaks till I can rest
The day I came into the world
Mountain ranges high and low spread before my eyes
Different routes and paths one could take
Dangerous ones, steep ones, ones with a lake
Which one will lead me in the right way?
Which one will lead me to success?
Which one will help me achieve my goals?
Step by step I test the ground
With an eager smile and my backpack of tools
Hand by hand I reach for the mountain before me
I climb and

Oh yes!
This one feels perfectly right for me
Mama and Papa try to pull me back
Stuffing more and more of their tools Into my handy dandy backpack
But I am already on my way
On my own Adventure as they say
Throughout the journey obstacles rise above like a wall
Rocks roll beneath my feet and I
F

Slipping a few hundred feet I gasp
Looking and feeling for something to grasp
Backpack, backpack open please!
What did Mama say? What did Papa warn about?
I cried, searching for the right tool to use
Little by little I regain my stand
My legs grow stronger and by backpack grows heavier
Finally I can see the morning glory sunrise
Above the mountain tops like a blue ribbon prize
My hand feels for the top of the peak as I heave myself over the edge
I DID IT!!!
How amazing the view was from this side of the ledge
And on this route I have become wiser
Picking up the pieces around me
To learn from my past mistakes and to see
How my experiences and stories weigh my backpack
Already, I am thinking about the next mountain I will tackle
The next dream and goal
That I will climb for
In this mountain range
I hope to encounter another enthusiastic climber one day
Who is willing to climb for what they dream of in their own special way.
