What would we be without others & society...

How are we all shaped to speak in the same language? To think about things the same way? To hold ideals similar to one’s brother and sister? We have learned all that we know, but what intuition and ideals lie readily in our soul? I promise you that the natural intuition of your mom is different from your dad’s is different than your aunt’s is different from your president’s is different from your best friend’s. Yet we are all told to follow the same path and conform to the same ideals. From birth our parents teach us, fill us with their knowledge. Then schools fill us with their knowledge. Then society fills us with its opinion of what is right and wrong expecting us to believe it, for it is what the majority latches on to. We are given many influences telling us what to be and which direction to go. This conditioning is done in a strict way in our society, and is failed to be recognized by most.

How much of what we believe is our natural knowledge; including our heart’s desires? We are told to go to school, wear boys clothes or girls clothes, eat three meals a day, rise at this time, sleep at that time, get a job that brings in money, pay taxes, get insurance, and pay other expenses, be friends with people who are similar to us, marry and have kids, say the right things, care about certain topics, retire at a certain age, etc. We are put through so much, and though this may be some certain people’s natural path- the path that their soul desires -it leaves me dissonant at the end of the day and it leaves my heart heavy. We have been brought up with the same concepts of the functions of life, but our souls may yearn separately. One’s inner self is not taught, like language or the logical choices of daily life. If you are different and do not feel in line with everybody else, know everybody’s soul reaches in different directions. Most members of the ‘everybody else’s’ minds go ways conjunct of each other; there is no one right or superior way. Guilt or dissonance and heaviness of the soul lies not from your wrongfulness. Rather it lies in others pictures of your soul not being what you actually are. It lies in you not showing truth and adjusting your soul to the customs created by other independently yearning souls.

God gave every man and woman possibility for purpose, and to accelerate this you must not forcefully stray from your path, which should be the greatest and easiest path as it is the one your soul so wishes for. It is easy to lose one’s way in the processes we are told to undergo and the roads we are pushed to tread. Carve your own road and tread your own path. A path which no one has ever seen before.

The heart also hurts because it yearns, but achieves only to fall short. Trust the Lord’s path and shut away yearnings, for they tend to leave one feeling short and heavy of the heart.
