What you give ...
Malachi 1:8
8 For when you offer blind animals as a sacrifice, is that not wrong? And when you offer the lame and sick, is that not wrong as well? Indeed, try offering them to your governor! Will he be pleased with you or show you favor?” asks the Lord who rules over all.
What you give is what you get ...
You give to God what is not yours.
You give to soothe your soul.
It feels real good to give “your” share
and join a common goal.
What you gave ... you left behind
your deeds were then fulfilled.
It is someone else’s problem now
that has been long instilled.
What if you gave what God did not want
for He knows your motivation?
God will find a way to get rid of it
and return it to your deprivation.
Stored in a bucket with many leaks
it will wind up in the gutter
You thought you did so well
cause in prayer you don’t stutter.
You love your mind ... you love your will
and your explanations.
Ready for well ... you can tell
lost in degradation.
