What You Have Given

Avenues thick and thin

Where can I even begin

To express how much you mean

When my face is scarlet

When the world is no longer sweet like a tartlet

You give me relief indeed

Above conflict depicted

And feelings vindictive

When ambivalence is all that can be found

You allow me to inscribe

The feelings inside

And all of the stress and anxiety compounds

Into something beautiful

Not vengeful or despicable

But something that can be read by all

Out of struggles given

And from the urge not to give in

My friend, you I will always recall
