What you took from me

That night you didn’t just take my body

You took the small part of me that was childlike

You took my soul

The confidence I had left

You took my love for going out

You took my love for food

You took my fearless attitude

You gave me fear of walking alone

You gave me fear of the dark

For I feared a monster always lurked in the dark corners

You took my carelessness with friends

You heightened my depression and anxiety

You gave me a life of constant fear

You made me lose the strength I had to fight against people like you

YOU at the end got away with it because of the fear you installed in me

Yet I never blamed you I blamed me

I hated me

I hated the body God gave me

But today I learned to win back who I was

And I become stronger, fearless, confident, and feared by people like you

Everything you took is now mine again!
