What's Best For You
What's Best For You
Because I love you,
I want what's best for you.
I want to sing songs with you,
and even write poems with you.
I want to lay in bed with you,
and go to the pumpkin patch with you.
I don't want to argue with you,
I want to be at peace with you.
Because I love you,
I want what's best for you.
But what's best for you,
isn't what's best for me.
I have scars on my heart,
rather than flowers in my hand.
And maybe that's okay,
because you love me anyway.
But I love me too,
and what's best for me definitely isn't you.
Please forgive me for leaving you,
Because I love you and I wanted what was best for you.
