What's the difference

As a young man, I didn't understand it

I couldn't seperate myself from the crowd

It was the crowd that gave me my identity

It was the crowd that protected me, gave me my wings,

showed me the only way, which I took to heart

As a young man, I began to think

Saw the crowd wasnt leading me in any direction

It's stagnation that runs on the block, moreso than thick pockets/

Everyone sits, with they hands on they junk,

complaining about police, the biggest gang in the city,

But at the same time

everyone has so much dirt, at this point it feels like a job

As a more insightful man I began to seperate myself

started going my own way, which I hadn't known existed,

started losing friends and my grasp of what's important,

and all the while I wasn't even sure

sure about leaving

sure about starting

sure about leaving

sure about stopping

As a man as insightful as I can be

I can look back and say I've been gifted

the crowd that showed me the way, as much as I love them

I cant say it was right for me

But I'm thankful to have made the distinction

that it's our own differences

that make us
