What's in the glass

What’s in the glass?

Is the glass half empty or half full?

Pessimism versus Optimism

Both have their pros and cons

Pessimism is how we survive

If we only see the bad we can stay alive

Avoid all those we think can hurt us

We adapt and we learn and we never forgive

And eventually, we die lonely and hating the world

Optimism is how we love

If we can only see the good we can truly live

Rejoice in all things that inspire

We blindly trust and we are trespassed and hurt

And we always forgive, we die hurt but with no regrets and in love with life

So, is the glass half empty or half full?

I guess it depends on what’s inside
