What's It All For?

I miss the way we used to talk

Sitting in school

Pretending to be cool

After all

What’s it all for?

We learnt together

The way of the world

How to talk less,

Smile more

Let go

Give in

How to fight

How to live

I'm sick of pretending

That nothing ever happened

There’s no point

After all

What’s it all for?

We got stuck on pause

Hit the slow motion

I’m trying not to push any buttons

Something changed

And yet it didn’t

I thought we agreed

To be there for the other

But then it was gone

Everything changed

But yet it didn’t

Its' all for nothing

Nothing for all

We cry

We shout

We scream

We die a little inside

Then again

We never defined

Exactly

What changed

Because

After all

What’s it all for?
