What's In A Name?

Why do we go by the names of those who don't know us?

Sure, they created us.

Sure, we are "theirs".

But do we not get to choose our own names?

Why do we follow the path that they set for us?

Sure, they got us this far.

Sure, they "know what's best for us".

But do we not get to choose our own road?

They can't know us if we were only just born.

They can't know our dreams if they're always telling us to "wake up".

Do we not get a say?

Do we not have a choice?

We do.

Or so they say...
