What's the point

What's the point in having a caring heart if its just gonna get torn apart? My heart of gold becomes covered in mold and as I grow old I become cold. Doing blow back to back, sometimes not even realizing where I'm at.  I'm a man with a sad soul, believing that I'll die alone. Sometimes I feel like going home and sometimes it feels like i have nowhere to go.  Sitting in the dark where all you hear is dogs bark, I close my eyes hoping time flys. I travel through my mind trying to find my way through the sands of time...hoping that one day i'll shine. My soul is crying, I hide the pain soo well that you would think I'm lying.
