What's Your Worst Nightmare?
What’s your worst nightmare?
Is it
The way water
Engulfs you,
Imprisons you,
And slowly steals your breath?
Or,
Maybe, it’s
The way the heat
Licks at your skin,
Feasts on your insides,
And slowly lets you melt?
Mine?
Well,
Mine is the way
I see everyone
Crumble before me,
How I make them
So deeply unhappy.
It’s
The way they
Look at me,
With such fear
Because
I’m not normal,
Not by any means.
I
Hear them,
In my head,
Creating
False memories
And
Turning me
Against
Who I called
“Friends.”
Betrayal.
