What’s in a Number?

You’re obese. That’s what my doctor said.

Obese? What? OMG!!!!

11 and I’m obese.

15 and I’m anorexic.

2 different docs. 2 different diagnoses.

Why am I never just right?

Got the prescription: eat, eat, eat

It was written on the pad. Then come back and prove that you did.

Get on the scale. Focus on the number. Watch the number. Watch it grow.

AP classes, volunteer work,  part time job and then the animal shelter.

Walk the dogs, pick up poop, feed them. No scales and no judgment.

They are flawless. Every one of them. Injured, beaten, bruised, abandoned but not by me.

That number means nothing. And never will.  Animals come in many sizes and so do we.

There is no perfect number, but I am perfect for me.
