That Is When . . .

After the oceans become dry,

And people's demons run wild.

After color leaves the sky,

And sadness creeps on every child.

After all the flowers die,

And emotions run shallow.

After any beauty becomes a lie,

And glimmers of hope run low.

After the winds have died,

And affection isn't given away.

That is when my care will subside,

And my love will lose it's way,

After lover's hearts go cold,

And warmth is no longer.

After there are no secrets to be told,

And temptation grows stronger.

After life becomes unmanageable,

And nature turns bland.

After hate is almost tangible,

And every weapon is manned.

After a plague reaches every heart,

And Earth meets a new wraith.

That is when my care will depart,

And my love will leave your path.

After monsters come everyday,

And anger replaces joy.

After there's nothing to keep nightmares at bay,

And everyone plays coy.

After stars lose their light,

And the world is filled with fear.

After soldiers lose their fight,

And people shed their every tear.

After everything is sickened with disease,

And a phenomenon like this.

That is when my care will cease,

And my love will loose your bliss.

I believe that love is essencial to life. People need love, whether it is loving another person, a pet or even yourself. This is the message behind my peom: There will be love as long as their is humanity.
