When

The more you chase the light

the further and further it goes,

you tried running towards it

and away from it

It didn't matter how much you struggled,

it wasn't bothered by your anguish

nor cared about your wretchedness,

just gave a cold shoulder and passed through you

Naught weighed in,

how badly you wanted it's warmth and tenderness

nor taken into account,

the sound of desperation in your voice

Nonetheless, you keep longing

for that day,

the promise of redemption

for all eternity
