When the Battle Rages

Inside your mind there is a place deep inside

Where a battle rages with the utmost fury

And the soldiers in your mind can only hide

The monster that they battle is one to bury

When battles rage, you can’t find clarity

For the monster that is hunting you will find,

Only the remnants of your sanity

Inside the darkness that makes you go blind

Yet there is a place that grows with flowers

And the beauty so blinding it covers the pain

And the monster can’t break down the towers

Of your heart he can only pull the chain

In this place you must find refuge and safety

You must find your hope and regain clarity
