When her thoughts are screaming
When her thoughts are screaming inside her brain
When all she feels is sorrow and pain
When the world has failed her once again
the pen and paper take over.
When she feels too scared to open her heart
Or the days she almost falls apart
When she can't find the beauty within the art
her words are what saves her.
When a dream-come-true's her only prayer
Through all the blood, sweat, and tears
To help her make it through the day
she writes the words too hard to say.
One day she'll push past it all
These words as hands to hold her tall
The question is not why she writes
it's why does writing make me feel alright?
