When I am with You

When I am with you I feel free,

like a bird flitting from tree to tree.

When I am with you I feel warm,

like when we sit at home

watching movies with popcorn.

When I am with you I feel like a tree,

my colors or moods may change

but I am still me.

When I am with you life feels like a breeze,

it may be strong but with you

nothing can hurt me.

When I am with you I am with my best friend,

because our friendship existed before we began.

But...

When I am without you the hardest part,

is knowing that you went back to college

with my heart.
