When I Awake

In the morning when I awake,

Last night’s memories my mind tosses on my plate,

No longer do I cherish the warmth of the morning  Sun,

Because I know from somewhere pain and misery will come

I’d rather be a realist against society’s charge,

than to be an idealist lost like garbage on a barge

As you get olderthe struggles makes all past goals seem meaningless,

and there  is nothing truly good at the end because all attempts

at survival are seeming less and less

When I awake these thoughts are in my mind as the day begins,

But seeing you always gives me the courage to fight again………….
