When I finally find something

When I finally find something I like

When I finally find something I can do

It is pulled away from me

And I fall

People say I don't try enough

But what I find is that it finds me

The only problem is keeping it

From disapereing

Leaning too heavily on the future

Leaning too heavily on the past

I don't even see what I have now

Until it doesn't last

But I know that I will find

What was meant to keep me whole

and alive

I know that one day the sun will shine

And what I want to keep

Will be kept

Close to the beating heart

I call mine
