When I First...

When I first heard your heart beat,

I couldn't stop listening.

When I first seen your little feet,

I couldn't stop watching.

When I first felt you kick,

I couldn't stop touching.

When I first heard your cry,

I couldn't stop crying.

When I first held you,

I couldn't stop holding you.

When I first heard the news,

I couldn't stop hurting.

When I first had to say goodbye,

I couldn't stop saying it.

When I first visited you,

I couldn't leave you alone.

When I finally got to take you home,

I couldn't be any happier.

I had you at last,

You had me forever.

Now those days have past,

But the days to come will be a blast.

My Baby Girl,

My Entire World.
