When I Grow Up

When i was younger, i was amazed at how adults had jobs.

When i got my first job, i realized I had no idea what i was doing.

They put me at a desk and in front of the phone. I answer it.

As i got younger, i was amazed at how teenagers could drive and

When i got my first car, it was beat up and i had anxiety behind the wheel.

Now i’m 18 and i used to think that was synonymous with being “grown.”

Until I realized the “when i grow up” was stopping me from “i will”

When was i supposed to stop growing?

When was i gonna finally be “grown”?

When was i supposed to start being who i wanted to be when i was younger?
