When I Leave

When I leave
I’ll leave behind the pain
And the ones that caused it.
No tears will be shed,
For none are left.

I’ll leave behind the blade,
And the one who gave it.
No scars will be made,
I have enough.

I’ll leave behind memories,
And the ones that made them.
Everything will be forgotten,
Nothing is worth remembering.

When I leave
The pain will fade,
As I fake another smile.
I’ll fool everyone around.
I’ll be numb to the pain.

The scars will fade,
As I hide among the crowd.
No one will see the true me.
Just a blur in the mass.

The memories fade,
As I shut out those people
Everyone else will forget.
As they normally do.
