When I see you
When I look back at you I see a little girl full of laughter
I see a little girl whose world was given to her at her fingertips by her daddy
I see a little girl who had the best birthdays thrown by her mom
I see a little girl who had a brother just a year behind her who was her sidekick
I see a little girl who loved her nana like she gave her night and day herself
I watched you grow up
You realized everything isn't as perfect as perceived to be
I watched you walk outside to see the death trap at your dads mouth,
But then I also watch you look up to him
You watch him get it together for his family
I seen him put you in the big house you've always dreamed of
Only thing missing was your mom who can't sit still
She's partying while tending to you kids or you guys house is the last thing on her mind
After many days of being out all night you can see the impact on your dad
You can see when it got your dad mad and made him a person he wasn't
He never intended to be distant but it all came from past hurt
He loved you like no other he just couldn't watch you become anything like her
Many days I watched you feel as though you weren't daddy’s little girl
But deep down inside you always knew you were
You always knew you were number one
But what made it confusing was your mom made it fun
What made it fun you ask …
She bought you what you wanted
Anything to keep you quiet about all the long nights that were anything but silent
For you to hear those noises and for her to know you heard without caring
After you told your dad everything took a turn
Not for the worst nor the better
It was a continuous cycle until about one mid November
November-when you realized it was enough and it's time to go
You weren't being disobedient you just knew it was your time to grow
Your father who you believed was always against you
Was always on your side of the court
Till this day him and god have protected and guided you through this journey
There is so much more I could tell you
I just cant watch you relive all the hurt you've been through
Just remember everything happens for a reason
And god is always on your side
