When I was Me
Being young i wasn't the best
I wasn't great but i seemed to be a pest
An aggravating, annoying kinda kid
The one who was angel but always had to hit
Dang i was mean
Now i'm older i finally looked back and seen
All these important things
All of my wants overcame my needs
Just a little boy
Always wanting the brand new toy
Just like all the others
But sadly i had no brothers
I do now and i'm proud to call them that
When their a pain or climbing all on my back
But back to the past
Back to the smell of the fresh cut summer grass
That i would play in
With the world's biggest grin
Or burn the leaves
And just ponder at my dad cutting trees
I help with all of that stuff now
And understand how
Raging mad you can get
When the wind blows or a little kid comes to kick it
I got little me’s now that i'm older
Having to be their model i'm gotta be a little bolder
And Smarter with what i do
So they can say “I wanna be just like you”
And make me smile so big
Watching them as a baby and now their a kid
Just like i was back then
Causing problems just like them
Trustworthy and responsible is how i've grown
And i've had times that it has shown
But now as i grow
The more is needed to know
And i’ll reap what i sow
