When I Write

When I write,

I hope no one hears my voice

For I speak harsh truth on paper.

When I write,

I hope the pen picks up my anger

And spills it out so it can taper.

When I write,

I write not for the living

Nor do I write for the dead.

When I write,

It is like a tree falling in the forest

But a sound only in my head.

When I write,

I break truth

Maybe it’s the only time I’m me.

When I write,

I hope no one ever reads

My greatest fear is for someone to see.
