When I write

I am finding myself With every click, with every stroke. The sound of the keyboard is not noise It’s a note To the song of my soul, as the words become a melody Brevity not needed because the goal is for longevity I write for the future To give voice to the past My rhymes are rhythm, pulse, and beat I am capturing Moments, events, culture, issues and crimes A present for the future rooted in time. Expressing myself, releasing my pain Painting my experiences amongst Hughes and Shakespeare’s I am gaining A place in history then and now For where thou art, there is world itself And You Only Live Once
