When I'm Alone

Sometimes when I’m alone My thoughts consume me I become trapped in an abyss of should be, could be, and would be’s I lose sight of what’s me and turn it into everything that tears me apart As it rips each and every part of me to shreds Bringing me to my knees My mind going places you just wouldn’t believe On the outside I am a picture of what you’d admire But what’s that saying about the closets and the skeletons they keep? I’m slowly but surely yearning to be set free But every time I move forward one step I get set back three Spiritually I can feel prosperity growing in me But it seems to be getting eaten alive by self-doubt, confusion, and pain This outer positivity is becoming harder and harder to sustain But I refuse to allow my sanity to be drained Let’s go back to the beginning and become new Where success you know me, but I don’t know you You can bring me back to my place of freedom Where everything falls into place But it has to be apart of a world only I can create Shae Original **
