When I'm Gone

THE TIME FOR ME TO LEAVE THE SCHOOL IS NEAR

THE DAY I HOPED WOULD NEVER COME IS HERE

THOUGH I NEVER GOT MY CUP BACK

I MUST SOMEHOW CARRY ON

I THINK I’M GONNA MISS YOU

WHEN I’M GONE

I’M FROM THE CLASS OF SIXTY-FOUR AND YET

SO LITTLE I REMEMBER

SO MUCH I FORGET

BUT THE TWO THINGS THAT’LL STICK WITH ME

ARE BOTH THE BRAINS AND BRAWN

OF THE SCHOOL THAT I AM SURE TO MISS

WHEN I’M GONE

I’M A MAN OF GOD AND SO I GO

TO DO HIS WORK AND WILL

IT’S WHAT I WANT BUT STILL

“J.C.” DOESN’T MEAN “JUST CHILL”

SO INSTEAD OF JUST GOODBYE I’LL SAY SO LONG

AND AS FOR THE FIFTH FLOOR POOL YOU’VE SEARCHED FOR,

YOU’LL CATCH ON

I’M A BETTER MAN THAN I WAS BEFORE

BEING HERE HAS MADE ME STRONG

AND I SURE AM GONNA MISS YOU WHEN I’M GONE

YES I SURE AM GONNA MISS YOU WHEN I’M GONE
