When I'm miles away

When I'm miles away,
When you feel alone
When you lie awake in the dead of the night
With a restless mind
      And a shattered heart
Look out your bedroom window,
and into the sky
At the silver crescent illuminating the night
         Cradling each star
Like my warm embrace
Feel the moonlight on your cheek
And remember the way your skin felt on mine
As my arms wrapped gently around your body
Remember the nights spent together
Laying awake
Lost in conversation
          Or blissful silence,
Our love has a language of its own
That only our lips can speak
That only our ears can hear
And only our hearts can understand
Listen to the sound of the wind
            Whistling outside your window
And remember the sound of my voice
When I whispered to you each night
I'll cherish those conversations
Of love and broken dreams
The moments we shared will last an eternity
tucked away in the depths of my heart
So close your eyes my dear,
And go to a place where the spell of reality is broken
Where the dead live forever
And love knows no boundaries
Find the replay button of life
And go back to those days
Back to the memories we made
These dreams bring the light back into our hearts
Like the glow of a full moon on the darkest of nights
So close your eyes my friend
and drift off into a peaceful bliss
When I'm miles away
When you feel alone,
Look up into the sky
      And remember
I see the same silver crescent
Cradling the same stars
          You are not alone
I will be your glowing crescent,
illuminating your darkest nights
I'll carry you to the edge of the moon
Where we will live among the stars
Cradled by that familiar crescent
And our love will never die
