when inspiration is lost

When I have lost my inspiration,

And I can't find it, no matter how hard I search,

I look for the help of my favorite person.

She's strong, and beautiful,

Wise and funny,

And never short of a quick word.

She is my best friend.

I can only hope to be able to express the awe-filled wonder that I have,

When it hits me that she puts me first.

Before other friends, other family,

Before boys, and sports, and school.

When I have lost my inspiration,

I remember that I have a best friend who has carried me across finish lines,

Who has helped me walk when I couldn't,

She always makes sure that I am not only taken care of, but that I am healthy.

Mentally and physically.

When I forget what I am worth, she reminds me.

She always will.

I have someone next to me that believes in me no matter what.

What's more inspiring than that?
