When it was Easy

A long time ago, when he was happy and she was the school's authority

everything he did, she would scold him for it, leaving him on the floor with some broken ribs

but then came the day when no one was around and she fell down

he saw it and walked over, helped her up to ask if she was alright

his hand touches her's, and she blushes then and there

and not long after, the two had many happy memories to share

skip a few years and now they're graduating high school

she's going to Harvard University, and he is heading towards military academy

he told her not to worry, there's nothing to fear because I'll be right here in your heart

then a war broke out, he was sent to the fight, but he mailed her every time

one day the mail stopped coming and she feared the worst

later that day a soldier came by and told her the news and she dropped to the floor in tears

5 years from then they found a man holding on to life and a pendant of the girl in his hands

the soldiers took him to his hometown where the girl was still alive

they called her in to check up on him

and surely she visited along with three kids and a tall business man

as soon as she stepped out the nurses rushed into his room

she knew what had happened, walked towards the door not turning back

that night she cried alone in the bathroom and she was temtped to take her own life

but that wasn't the answer, and ever since then she lived her life with a hole in her heart

many years from then, sitting in her front porch when her face had wrinkled, she fell down

surely enough he saw it helped her up and they both walked towards the sky.
