When It's All Said and Done

When does a parent stop saying "I Love You" After the hundrth time of peek-a-boo? When do parents stop caring? When is it decided kids arent worth sharing? When do parents stop saying "hello"? When kids grow up and have tantrums to throw? When they learn to stand up and say "NO!"? When do relationships start to fade? When lectures start because "mistakes" were made? Chilrden rain on their parents' parades And can no longer say they stayed In a "home" Where little girlsare sad Because dads get mad And they don't even see That three Nonexistent words hurt more than Drowning in the sea In a sea of lies A house of silent cries Because god forbid anyone hears The dripping of tears Like a faucet turned on Children are the "devils spawn" What did they do to desrve this? The ending of parental bliss? Thinking twice before a goodnight kiss... Wondering if in that day they were even missed Wondering if life is worthless In hopes of hearing once again Times ten "I love you!"
