When Last We Met

When last we met like daggers words cut and cheeks stained wet ‘twas then the heart left its rut. A touch once fond grew cold as ice now free from the bond that plagued like lice. Looking back now I wonder, “Were thou truly worth it all?” Mine heart was left in a blunder Yet now I hear serenity’s call. Thine eyes that once shined darkened and lost in a sea ‘tis now thine heart that pines over the loss of me. ‘Twas once mine name never crossed thy lips now without a trace of shame through them it slips. With the Sun’s final rays it seems as though our love has seen its final days as hearts are covered in snow.
