When Life Isn't Easy

To my baby sister,

Life itself is not as easy as it seems to be,

Sometimes the pain is so severe it hurts like a cut knee.

When the journey may seem like it's about to end,

You soon realize there's another big bend.

You smile and try to hide the pain inside,

Along with tears confusion and disappointments that may arise.

For there are so many paths to cross,

The biggest mountains sometimes seem like a total loss.

At times you feel defeated and don't know what to do,

If there was only a way I could handle it, if I only knew.

"For we are all sometimes defeated but never crushed,"

We just have to get back on our feet and give our knees a brush.

With love, Big Sis
