When life is unfair

Life is a lot of things

Unfair

Unfortunate

Unavoidable

and Undeniably difficult.

Each of these things can be dealt with in multiple ways.

Some more productive than others.

When life turns in one of these directions

it is natural to retreat to a place of Self-Preservation

what some might call self-pity.

It may seem safe but it is a trap,

maybe that is the PIT in pity.

If you stay there,

you will die there.

There is a lot of healing in the catharsis of a good cry,

but if the situation isn't going to change then your approach has to.

Time in this life is finite.

Spending it in unending anger or grief has no value

Life is about choices,

but they aren't always yours.

Life is a reactionary event.

We are all just pinballs

constantly crashing into each other.

There are moments of calm clarity

as we rest on the flippers about to launch.

We have focus, aim, and goals

until something knocks us back off course.

When we crash we must find our way back

Drifting around the playboard serves no use.

Return to the the flippers,

reset,

refocus,

renew,

and repeat.

What will your life score be?
