When the Light Fades
There’s black everywhere
I can’t see a thing
Why did it have to happen to me?
I was an artist
Now
I’m just blind
Something brushes my leg
I open my mouth to scream
Everything scares me now
It would scare you, too, if you couldn’t see
The world feels foreign
Everything is…
Different
Strange
Terrifying
I go to reach for my hairbrush
But it isn’t there
Someone has moved it again
It was frustrating when that happened when I could see,
But now it makes me cry
I feel so helpless
