When Love Runs Out

Life and its troubles are changing

with each passing day

the world’s Pain is severe and unending

and can lead the strongest-willed astray

But a bigger part of the soul,

and the voice in the back of the mind,

reassures that this negative toll

can strengthen the weakest of earth’s kind

All of this Sadness and frailty

involved with Affection that is worn-out and spent,

is more than enough to last an eternity

but occasionally brings forth a budding rose and its strong scent

However, what happens when the Love is forgotten

… and ends… and the Pain wins?

Is it the beginning of Evil? Is it its origins?
