When Mice Roar

The way the situation presented itself

Is in the way that

A hand crushes a shell

All emcompassing

No escape

Meaningless to hope

There is only the struggle to power on

To rebuild after those fragments have fallen

Like heavy dust to an unsuspecting earth

We crash and dissolve and sublimate

Unbeknownst to those

Who drove us to fall in the first place

We move along in sweet melody before

The twisted energy of the crisis

Takes us

And we slip away

Into our problems
