When poetry failed me

As if a earthquake laced

its spindly fingers around my ribs

Shaking me from the inside out

That’s what it feels like

A hummingbird stuck in my throat

Jumping beans in my blood stream

Stomach a whirlpool

Stuck inside my mind

Loosely stitched lips

Trying to speak with cotton in your mouth

Headless chicken

Water hose legs

Noodle arms

Less and less poetic as I go on

Poetic disaster

Figured out language

And misinterpreted melodies

As I go on

Roots like spineless summers

Leaves like glassless windows

Carry on
