When she looks into the

When she looks into the mirror

What does she see?

Beauty,

Uglieness,

Flaws,

Or Perfection?

No.

She sees the face of her mother

who she barely knows.

She sees eyes like her fathers,

where deep within lies

the pain she hides.

She sees a reflection that is

not her own.

She sees a reflection of those

whose approval she couldnt keep.

Every night she prays

that maybe one day

someone will come along

and help her to unfog

the mirror that blurs her vision,

so that maybe

when she looks into

the mirror

she wont see pain

or disapproval

she'll see a reflection

that is her own,

that has flaws that

create beauty,

and imperfections that

dont matter

because she doesnt

need the approval

of anyone

except herself.

But every morning

she looks into the mirror

and she doesnt see

Beauty,

Uglieness,

Flaws,

Or Perfection.

She sees the face of her mother

who she barely knows.

She sees eyes like her fathers,

where deep within lies

the pain she hides.

And her vision isnt blurred

by the fog.

In fourth grade I started writing. It's been a huge dream of mine to have a book published that many people will enjoy. Writing is what helps me let out my emotions in a healthy way and to express my creativity.
