When Support Meets Despair

He was born and raised in the mean streets of Chicago. His dad was an alcoholic which resulted in his dad killing his mom. Now his life is full of sorrow. Long nights, stormy days and a lot of pain. Wondering who is going to watch him or will he remain. What makes it really bad, he is another boy in the city who has to grow up without a mom or a dad. He wakes up at night crying after what happened at the age of six. He is going through some scary stuff, no scary movie, no drama, this is real life...I think they call it trauma. His grandma is forced to take him in now, but she is ill. He has a big hole in his heart searching for someone to fill. By the age of ten he decided he wanted to do everything opposite of what his dad did. His dad was an alcoholic so he didn't want to be it. His dad lived a terrible life style and he didn't want to see it. His dad literally controlled his mentality of life, causing him to think about everything his dad and it was out of spite. His whole life was cold and torn. So far away from warm. Wishing he was never born. No one ever thought he would be successful...similar to Rudy. He was searching for his mom, where was his Leanne Touhy. He has no engine for motivation, no transmission. He doesn't know where to start his journey. No expedition. Till one day these people came asking for him. His grandma told him they came to take away all the hurtin' and give his life a purpose. He started going to this after school care program designed for struggling kids in poverty. There his life changed. He went from a life of darkness and into a life of light. At this program they taught him about the love of Jesus Christ and how He changed the world. They told him he was a royal priesthood and a man chosen by God. He looked at them odd because no one ever chose him for anything so he thought it was a fraud. He began to grow very close to these people who gave a lot of attention to the man behind the steeple. It was like his whole life went from black and white to bright colors. He found a dad in Christ but he was still missing a mother. He prayed to God to asking for a mom. Before he knew it he became a son. His mom adopted him and his brother because his grandma became more ill. She took these boys in with many great intentions. That whole in his heart was finally filled. But he still holds on to the unforgiveness of his daddy and he knows it. His vision for forgiveness is far away from getting any clearer. No high school drop out. College student majoring in business. I know this kid. In fact, he's my best friend, I see him every morning when I look in the mirror.
