When to Tell You

Tue, 11/28/2017 - 13:09 -- itry

To my once best friend who

made me laugh, and taught me things I never knew

To my once best friend who

Gave me many fun things to do

To my once best friend who

At one point, made me feel brand new

To my once best friend

I'll give you thanks where thanks is due

But

I'm over having to pretend

That we aren't coming to an end

I'm over having to lie to myself

When inside of myself

I cry to myself

For depriving myself

of happiness

When its all because of your craftiness

That I'm dying inside

Trying to Decide

When To Tell You

I know that I ought to

I just don't know how to

I hate that this is what it's come to

But I know it's a necessity

Because I'm breathlessly

Pleading my case

'Cuz it's always in my face

When to Tell You

When to tell you I'm done

But I love you

It's best for the long run

Let me enlighten you

I love you

But I love myself

But once again, how do you relieve oneself

From love

Get rid of

Let go of

The rest of

My love

I will never forget

But I'm deadset

On letting you go

So we grow

Even if it's apart

It's time to take part

In change, in growth

In both

Apart

This poem is about:
Me
