When Things Become Tough

When things become tough, and I don’t know what to do

I look for forgiveness, only from you

I pray to you for guidance, and a way out

Hoping you can lead me down another route

When things become tough, I look to you

I ask for your help, so I don’t feel so down

When I think of what I did, I can only frown

I ask for you to help me

And to help me feel free

When things become tough, I look to you

Send me help, so I don’t feel so trapped

I made the choice, and then I snapped

I didn’t know what to do

All I could do, is think of you

When things become tough, I look to you

I read your word, and pray to you

Examine each verse, to live more like you

After my choice, I want to change

It’s my life that I want to rearrange

When things become tough, I look to you

After I pray and read your word

I feel free again, much like a bird

You forgave me, now I can free myself

Now my guilt is free itself

When things become tough, I look to you
