When Time Stops

I relish the way time stops When something tragic happens When suddenly you feel your heart catch in your chest And you look around at everything in slow motion You watch the trees bend in the wind See the stars light up the sky You sing under the moon at night And the beautiful part about it Is that it only stops for you Everyone else moves on Their lives continue They dont feel your pain And thats okay Sometimes you have to solve things on your own And ive learned to enjoy the sadness Depression helps you see things in a different way In a beautiful way Now you can see the heartache in the things around you Like the trampled leaves The faded photograph The broken bicycle And these things truly are beautiful They make you feel again They hold your hand and lead you out of this hole Towards the sunrise Back to the river and back home The beautiful thing is Time only stops when you allow it
