When Time Was There

When Time was There

It’s not about the money,

Not about the price,

Not about the hatred growing up on the rise

I sit here saying

They weren't ever nice

But thinking back

It was a huge lie

It’s not about the money,

Not about the price,

Not about how people don’t understand you

All of the time

Having to explain, wanting to go hide,

The only thing you can do

Is to sit down and cry

But it’s not about the money,

Not about the price

Maybe it’s if you could go back in time

Back to your city, back to your home,

Back to where you’ll never be alone,

Back to the thinking,

Back when there’s hope,

Back when no one ever doubted you for broke

If only there was a time,

I’ll explain every night

Having to hold onto the edge of a knife

Your hand will grow cold

But don’t stand there and behold

Have a good look at something you can mold

Hang your head high,

Look to the sky

And never look back when you say goodbye

It’s not about the money,

Not about the price,

It’s about loving everything that is right.
