When We Where Gods.
Once we where gods
Soaring in the heavens, playing in the Milky Way
We were immortal
Not worrying about a simple sneeze
Not fretting over the image in the mirror.
Powerful, smart, beautiful beyond all others
We were above it all and pitied the crawling animals below
The head god's so called paradise was lovely but,
Not as lovely as the stars we played in and the clouds we slept in.
We thought highly of our selves and in our ignorance coveted the high god's power.
We wanted to make worlds of our own, make things and creatures of our own
We where gods too were we not? Why is the power to create life only limited to one god?
Not fair!
This was not fair at all
We attacked with our words and curse his name
Not believing that he made us
Not caring to show respect
Then one night came and the head god banished us to his paradise
We woke on the hard ground flowing with green grass
We didn't know all that we knew
We where not as powerful as before
Our skin was ours but now it could be cut and damaged
We feared chilling cold and sneezes
Over time we began to dread our reflection
We look up at the Milky Way and longing for its fun
We looked up at the clouds and wished to lay in its soft cradle once more.
We cried and begged for forgiveness
Pleading, whining, wanting, we became mortal children
Praying for the head god to take us back into the heavens
To bestow our immortality to us once more, to make us gods again!
But he refused
Leaving us to learn and do for our selves and to only follow in his word
Only then we will be gods again
Only then we would dance in the Milky Way and slumber in the white clouds above.
Only when our mortal body's die and our new immortal life starts -
Is when we could become gods again.
