When Will I Be Happy

When the skies are dark.

When the shine of the sun fails to warm my heart.

When despair clouds my excitement.

I rummage for my medicine,

The one that cures my symptoms of anxiety and desperation.

I walk through the darkness to reach this sunlit haven.

My haven?

It could be love,

But that's too heavy.

What about music?

Well, that's too mainstream.

My daily medicine is the box of chocolates that lay before me.

The unsecurity of knowing what will happen tomorrow gives me hope of happiness.

Spending everyday unsure if sadness will continue or stop...

That is what fuels me to live another day as happy and joyful as ever.
