When Will I Have The Freedom

When.

When will I be able to be treated equal as the one whos skin is lighter than mine. When will

I have a better chance of succeeding with this dark complection of mine. When will I have

the chance to be the best that I can be. When will I have the FREEDOM to do the

impossible and have anything to make me unstopable. Its like society is holding me back

but I have a choice its either school or the streets which one will it be. My pops always told

me that I would be the first to cross the stage with my cursed last name. and I know its a

pain to watch my older brother make mistake after mistake and the mistakes could

determine his days I know its a pain. but at the end of the day My parents is all we have.

So I should be more thankful. To be born in a time where we are no longer slaves or have

to segragate and have to endure the pain just make for better days. When will I have the

FREEDOM to tell my children to have a great day without worrying about what would

happen if they got hurt. When will I have the Freedom.
